Dorm Shopping

The time is coming. What time you ask? Move in day. The day that all freshmen, transfers, and returning students look forward too. The time to make new friends and meet up with old ones. Don't forget the time to spend hundreds of dollars on all new dorm stuff (and yes, stuff is the technical term). What's an easy way for broke college kids to afford all of this? There are always sales. The Container Store is having a happy home/happy dorm sale. Everything is discounted, just a little, but a little goes a long way. Then there are always the obvious Walmart, Target, and Bed, Bath, and Beyond  back to school sales. Another way to cope with spending money you don't have is to ask for student discounts. Plenty of stores have student discounts. Name it and they might have it, restaurants, clothing stores, movie theaters, all you have to do is ask. If you are a little shy, just click here. Before you go, I have one last way to furnish your dorm. Buy things little by little. Spend $50 here, another $50 dollars there, and before you know it, you will have everything you need for your dorm. Just start with the basics, then build on top of that. Don't know all you need for your dorm? Check out my dorm room check list. And with that note...

New Dorm Life

I am Iyana, a college transfer student who did not get to live in $10,000 dorms my two years at Johnson and Wales University. Now that I have transferred, I get to live in more reasonable $3,000 dorms, A totally new thing for me. With that said, I get to do all the planning and buying I've never done before. I get to have the cute bedspreads and matching lamps and really live the college life. To help me, I have put together this AMAZING dorm room checklist. I found that is has a few things ones from Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc... don't include. Check it out at the link below
